A blue sky, vertical reflections and a couple in the foreground. Another Van Gogh night, with a different composition from the MoMA painting and a smaller listed format.
The original artwork
The Musée d’Orsay holds Van Gogh’s 1888 Starry Night, the view of the Rhône in Arles. Its record describes city lights reflected in the river. This is a different work from MoMA’s 1889 The Starry Night.

Where we would try it
We would explore it beside an armchair or on a small wall where it can be seen fairly closely. The reflections organise the image vertically even though the landscape extends horizontally. Letting that double direction contrast with simple furniture lines could work better than placing a row of accessories directly beneath it.
How to pair it
We would pair it with medium-toned wood and plain textiles, starting with neutrals before adding another blue. The couple in the lower corner introduces a human scale that may be lost if the picture is too high or distant. We would therefore decide where it will be viewed before merely checking whether it fits.
The checked reproduction
The 1art1 listing checked on Amazon.es describes a canvas print mounted on a wooden stretcher. The selected option shows 40 × 50 cm, while the title gives the pair as 50 × 40 cm. We do not interpret that ordering as a measurement of width and height.

What to check
Ask for a photograph of a unit or the exact option to inspect the small stars, reflections and two figures. In a reduced image these details may matter more than the overall impression of the sky. Confirm the outer dimensions, front surface and included hanging system; the word canvas does not establish them.
- Confirm the option and outer dimensions before buying; do not extrapolate specifications to other sizes.
- Try a paper template on the wall and look from your usual viewing position.
- Check the seller, package contents and current terms directly on Amazon.es.
How to test the size before buying
Our reading
We find it a compositional alternative to the swirls of The Starry Night. We do not rate it as a better or worse print: we have not compared units. If it will be seen from across a living room, try a template first and decide whether you want to recognise the whole scene or spend time with its smaller details.
